Each year, some transportation projects are eligible for funding from a number of Federal transportation programs.
On an annual basis, we identify those projects which in the last fiscal year have benefited from the allocation of Federal transportation funding in our area, and report their status to the public through the Federal Transportation Investment in the Bloomington-Normal Urbanized Area.
These projects may include the reconstruction of intersections to improve safety and ease traffic congestion, streetscape engineering to make the community more attractive for all users of our streets, data collection and processing to improve our understanding of the transportation system, and engineering studies to consider the needs of the Bloomington-Normal of the future.
